Sobotište is the site of a large Hutterite Bruderhof that is still inhabited by descendants of the Hutterites today, the only Bruderhof which continued in existence throughout the entire period of Hutterite history in Central Europe (1546-1762). All the Vorsteher or "bishops" of the Hutterite brotherhood lived here, including particularly Andreas Ehrenpreis. Here we explore the renovated mill in Sobotište, and investigate where the word "Haban" comes from. We discovered that some Haban descendants turned out to be very famous personalities, including president of the USA!
