A thriving industry in Pribitz was that of clock making; its fame was spread throughout the land. The Hutterites at Pribitz were recorded to have built clocks in many large Moravian towns and cities, including the Moravian capital Brno. Also here was the home and place of rest of the well-known Peter Walpot, who died on 30 January 1578, one of the three elders, "highly endowed with the Spirit of God and an ornament of the entire brotherhood."
