Hutterite Pilgrimage: Alinkov - The Only Remaining Haban Court in Moravia (Tour clips)

Čermákovice  •

At long last we arrived at the famous Alinkov Court. Here is the only remaining fully intact Hutterite bruderhof in all of Moravia! To this day, Alinkov stands separately from the nearby town of Čermákovice. It is the best example we have of how Hutterites used to live in the 16th and 17th centuries. It has gone through multiple owners and purposes since the Hutterites left, but for some mysterious reason it wasn't burnt or destroyed like the other bruderhofs were. Archeological work lead by Jiri Paier has proven that Alinkov was indeed built and inhabited by Hutterites. For me, the finding of shards of faience (Hutterite pottery) is proof enough to believe this theory. Let's go for a tour and see how well it matches up to how Hutterites live and function today. The court consists of 6 main buildings, including a mill, workshop, stable, tannery, and the main building which is further divided into sections. Here we have a look inside the ruins of the mill.
